Why Ilyas Abubakri Olanrewaju Deserves Our Support and a Bigger Platform

As a youth from Egbeda-Alimosho, I have watched with admiration and quiet gratitude how one man has, over the years, continued to uplift our people without noise, without seeking attention — just pure heart, genuine love for community, and an unwavering commitment to human development.

That man is Ilyas Abubakri Olanrewaju — a name that today commands respect across Lagos and Abuja not just for his business success, but for his humility, philanthropy, and consistent community support.

Many may know him as a successful entrepreneur, but to those of us on the ground, Ilyas Abubakri Olanrewaju is a father figure, a mentor, a bridge builder, and a silent helper. He has touched countless lives, often without the cameras or press. School fees have been paid. Youths have been empowered. Struggling families have received help. Community efforts have been quietly supported — all without a headline.

In a time when many with less do more talking than giving, Mr Olanrewaju does more doing than talking.

What makes him different is not just his success in business — though that is worthy of note. He has built reputable ventures, delivered projects with integrity, and stayed grounded through it all. He listens, he understands, and above all, he cares.

Now, as calls rise from different quarters urging him to step into the political space, I join my voice to that call. Not because of politics for its own sake, but because we need people like Ilyas Abubakri Olanrewaju — people with proven capacity, compassion, and character — to help shape the future.

This is a man who understands the needs of the people because he has always been among the people. He has walked our streets, heard our cries, and responded with action.

As a concerned youth, I believe Olanrewaju represents a rare breed of leadership — the kind that inspires, uplifts, and unites. If ever there was a time we needed someone like him to take up the mantle and bring his experience to governance, it is now.

Whatever decision he eventually makes, one thing is clear: Ilyas Abubakri Olanrewaju has already written his name in the hearts of his people. And that legacy, built on service and selflessness, is what true leadership is all about.

We celebrate you, sir.

Dele Ojo is a concerned youth who writes from Egbeda-Alimosho.
