The Sports University of Nigeria, Idumuje Ugboko, Delta State, has announced the commencement of admissions into its 2025/2026 academic session.
In a social media post, Senator Ned Nwoko, who is the Chancellor of the University, explains: “The university aims to raise a generation of young Nigerians who are not only champions in their chosen sports but also leaders in various fields, including medicine, management, communication science, and public service”.
According to him, the university offers a range of programmes across different disciplines, including sports and high-performance disciplines such as football, taekwondo, swimming, and golf. Additionally, it offers programs in mass communication, management, social and allied health sciences, sciences, and architecture.
The university also provides diploma, certificate, and direct entry programmes designed to cater to students who require alternative pathways to higher education, promoting inclusivity and upward mobility.
On the requirements, the lawmaker said; “Student of the university is required to undergo compulsory physical training under Category A, emphasising physical discipline and resilience to cultivate excellence in both mind and body.
According to the Chancellor, the university prioritises a holistic approach to education, stressing moral values, national service, and global relevance.
The university’s facilities are world-class, and the curriculum is forward-thinking. The university’s commitment is to raise graduates who will compete not just locally but on the global stage.
