The Principal, Federal Government Girls College, Mrs. Justina Favour Kure has appeal to the state Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas to support the College for a brighter and good results.
She made the appeal during the Twenty Third Annual Speech and Prize giving Day held at the College premises.
She said that the College has been participating in National and International events, thereby needing support to do better.
“Time will not permit me to read all the successes and laurels our students have brought to the College, State and Nation during the 2024/2025 academic session. They qualify to represent the state and nation for a Robotic competition in Rwanda and also yet another intercontinental Pan African Problem Solvers Challenge (PAPSC) schedule to take place in August 2025 in Ghana.
She added that during the national challenge in Abuja, one of the College student and Head Girl, Stephanie Nwabueze, emerged as the Trail- Blaizer for the nation and thank parents and guardians for their prayers and even criticism that have propelled the College towards success.
“Let me Congratulate you on you for reaching this critical milestone in your educational journey. Your success today is proof of your hard work, resilience and unwavering support of your teachers and parents.
“Please, maximize the entrepreneural skills you aquired through vibrant activities of clubs and societies in the college. With them in you, I am optimistic that you will never have any passive moment in your future endeavors.
“Never be hasty in making decisions. Allow God to always direct your steps and actions. Always be reminded that you have the integrity of FGGC Jalingo, to present honourably and protect at all times.
“You will surely excel if you painstakingly make up your mind to firmly stick to the values that have been inculcated into you at home and in the college.
“To the parents and guardians, I salute your sacrifice, patience and prayers for you are the invisible architects behind the achievements we are celebrating today and your children success is your success, we thank you.
Mrs. Kure urge the students to see the day not as an end, but as a beginning.
“The knowledge, values and discipline instilled in you within these walls will serve as the compass to guide you through life’s many roads. The world out there is full of opportunities and also challenges – she said.
She appreciate them for conducting themselves well during their years in the college and urge them to remain focused and stay through to their purpose and never stop learning.
The Principal enumerated challenges facing the college to include, land encroachment, porous road network and drainage, Security, Inadequate teaching staff in critical subjects such as English, Mathematics, PHE, Technology and Visual Arts, Solar electrification to reduce YEDC bills, blown off sports pavilion, Sports equipments and low enrollment of students.
She express her immense gratitude appreciation to the Federal Ministry of Education their support to the college, Vice Principals, Staff and students of the college for their comments which according to her, have contributed to the success of the 2024/2025 academic session.
In his remarks, the Chairman of Jalingo Local Government, State Chairman ALGON, and National Chairman (Welfare), ALGON National Headquarters, Dr. Aminu Jauro Hassan, congratulate the matriculating students for reaching the critical milestone in their educational journey.

He commend the management and staff of the College for upholding a standard of excellence that continue to position the college as one of the finest in the state and indeed in Nigeria.
“Your commitment to nurturing the minds and character of our youth is laying a solid foundation for a brighter and more prosperous future.

He urge the matriculating students to see the day not as an end, but a beginning, values and discipline, instilled in them within the walls to serve as compass to guide them through life’s many roads.

He urge students both graduating and continuing to embrace excellence, integrity and patriotism.
“Our dear Nation needs you – your dreams, your energy and your vision. The future belongs to those who are ready to learn, lead and serve.
The Chairman disclose that Jalingo local government is committed to supporting education, youth employment and social development.
“We recognize that no society can rise above the quality of its education system. That is why under my leadership, we are working closely with schools and educational stakeholders to improve infrastructure, expand access and support innovation in learning.
“The Governor’s free education policy, reduction of school fees to 50% at Tertiary Institutions and infrastructural upgrade across schools is yielding positive impact and redefining our educational echo system generally.
He expressed gratitude to God and the school’s management and reaffirming Jalingo LG’s commitment to supporting education, youth empowerment, and social development.
“Our efforts are aligned with the Five Finger Agenda of His Excellency Dr. Agbu Kefas, Executive Governor of Taraba State, which prioritizes education as a key driver of development.
He presented awards and certificates to the graduating students, honored the Principal, and received an Award of Excellence for his commitment to girl-child education.
He highlighted the positive impact of the state’s free education policy and infrastructure upgrades on the educational system, underscoring our collective efforts to improve learning outcomes and empower the next generation.
The 2025 Matriculation featured, a Paper Presention, Award presentation to the students for excelling in their various responsibilities, and the Matriculation of 121 Students has the Theme: The Girl Child, A tool for Nation Building.
