The Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Bassa Local Government Area, Alhaji Abdulkerim Nda, has strongly denied recent rumours alleging the defection of party executives to the All Progressives Congress (APC). In a statement, Alhaji Nda reaffirmed the strength and unity of the SDP in the local government.
The statement issued by Isaiah Davies Ijele, Publicity Secretary of SDP Kogi State, on August 3, 2025, explained that: It has come to our attention that certain individuals, who unfortunately failed to secure their polling units during the last election, are spreading false information about the state of our party,” Alhaji Nda stated.
He emphasised, “I want to make it unequivocally clear: the Social Democratic Party in Bassa Local Government is not only intact but thriving, united in our commitment to our values and goals”.
The SDP chieftain also stressed the importance of honesty and integrity, saying, “We believe in transparency and truth. Spreading falsehoods to gain relevance is unacceptable. The SDP in Bassa LGA remains a strong and vibrant force, dedicated to serving the people.”
