A fatal shooting took place outside a mosque in Orebro, Sweden, on Friday, leaving one man dead and another injured.
Police say the attack appears linked to organized crime rather than the mosque itself.
The victims, both men in their 20s, were targeted shortly after leaving the building.
One, aged 25, died from his injuries, while the other is receiving medical care. Authorities have opened investigations into murder, attempted murder, and serious weapons violations.
Officers are gathering witness statements and searching for those responsible.
Local media reported that the violence may be connected to tensions between two rival gangs active in Orebro.
Swedish police have faced a rise in gang-related shootings in recent years, with criminal groups often recruiting young people from disadvantaged neighborhoods to commit violent acts.
Orebro, located about 200 kilometers west of Stockholm, has experienced major violence before.
Earlier this year, a 35-year-old man carried out Sweden’s deadliest shooting, killing ten people at an adult education center before taking his own life.
