Zamfara APC supporters vow to defend their Votes, reject injustice in Kaura South rerun

Supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State have vowed to defend their votes in the forthcoming rerun election for Kaura Namoda South constituency.

They pledged to resist any attempt to undermine the will of the people, accusing the state government, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of plotting to subvert the process.

The chairman of the Zamfara APC Supporters Forum, Kabiru Ibrahim Kaura, said recent reports of secret meetings between the state government, PDP leaders, and the INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner had raised serious concerns about the credibility of the rerun.

He insisted that the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) must be used during the exercise.

“BVAS was deployed in the initial election without objection. Any rerun conducted without it will be rejected by our party and by the people,” Kaura declared.

The group also alleged plans to deploy government-backed security operatives to intimidate voters.

“Our supporters will remain vigilant at every polling unit. We will not allow harassment, ballot stuffing, or violence to deny the people their mandate,” Kaura warned.

He said the APC was already leading by more than 1,600 votes and stressed that no manipulation could change the outcome.

The forum urged INEC’s national chairman to remove what it called a “compromised” Resident Electoral Commissioner and replace him with a neutral official to oversee the rerun.

They also called on security agencies, including the police, DSS, and civil defence corps, to act professionally and avoid being used as political tools.

According to the APC supporters, their members will turn out in large numbers on election day to monitor proceedings.

But they warned that any attempt to rig the polls or trample on the will of the people would be resisted.

“Zamfara APC supporters are law-abiding, but we are ready to defend our votes with all legitimate means if anyone tries to rob us of victory,” Kaura said.
