Kogi ADC Lauds Ogbeha As Ex-military Governor Turns 78 Today

The Kogi State chapter of the African Democratic Congress, (ADC) has congratulated a former member representing Kog6 West Senatorial District in the upper legislative chambers of the National Assembly, Senator Tunde Ogbeha who turns 78 today as a role model for aspiring leaders across the country.

In a statement issued by the Publicity Secretary of the party in the state, Mall. Suleiman Abdulmalik in Lokoja on Monday, the party lauded Ogbeha who was at different times military governor of old Bendel and Akwa Ibom states for his statesmanship and candour in his different political engagements.

According to the statement made available to newsmen, Abdulmalik stated that Ogbeha has continued to show leadership to new generation of leaders in both the state and the country at large over four decades.

The party in the statement recollects the role Ogbeha has continued to play in the current coalition arrangement that culminated in the birth of the ADC to challenge the failed and rudderless All Progressives Congress (APC) come 2027.

“Today marks the 78th birthday anniversary of the birth of our leader in Kogi State, Senator Tunde Ogbeha. This occasion causes for celebration considering the impactful life Senator has lived which have caused many to continue to see him as a reference point for statesmanship and good governance.

“We also recollect the role he played in the creation of Kogi State, Senator Ogbeha was the arrow ahead of the creation of Kogi.

“He has made so much sacrifice for the growth and stability of our dear state in the past, even when he was prevailed upon by some leaders both in the state and outside to compel him to continue his membership of the Senate after having spent eight years of two terms to pave the way for new leaders to emerge.
“Despite efforts by notable leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) then to persuade him to stay on in the Senate, which he bluntly rejected thus setting the stage for statesmanship which is yet to be surpassed till now,” Abdulmalik wrote.
