Some constituents of the Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Danladi Jatau, have appealed to Gov. Abdullahi Sule to construct the Garaku to Bassa Road in order to improve their standard of living.
Ayuba Dodo, the chairman of a political group, ‘Hon Danladi Jatau Gida Gida Support Group’ of Bassa District, led its members on a courtesy visit to the speaker in Lafia on Wednesday.
He lamented the dilapidated nature of the road and urged the state government to come to their aid by reconstructing it.
”As the road, if reconstructed, will reduce the plight our people are facing in transporting their goods.
”It will also boost our agricultural and socio-economic activities as well as improve their standard of living,” he said.
Mr Dodo said that the visit was to identify with the speaker over his good leadership style.
He highlighted the achievements of the speaker to include employment, empowerment, education and bolstering agriculture, among others.
The chairman called on the speaker to contest for the House of Representatives seat of Keffi/ Kokona/ Keffi Federal Constituency in 2027.
They assured him of their readiness to mobilise support for him to come out victorious, assuring the speaker of their loyalty and support to succeed.
Responding, Mr Jatau appreciated them for the visit and assured of continued purposeful leadership.
He also appreciated individuals and groups for calling on him to contest for the House of Representatives seat of Keffi/ Kokona/ Karu Federal Constituency come 2027.
Mr Jatau said that he would answer the calls of the people at the appropriate time while appreciating them for calling on him to vie for the coveted seat.
”I want to appreciate you for the visit and for calling on me to contest for the position of House of Representatives of Keffi/ Kokona/ Karu federal constituency come 2027.
”I also want to assure you that I will continue to do my best for you and other people of our constituency in order to improve on your standard of living,” he said.
The speaker assured them that Sule would construct the Garaku/ Bassa road in order to boost agricultural and socio-economic activities of the people of the area.
He also urged them and other people of the state to continue to live in peace and tolerate one another, irrespective of their affiliations.
