
Troops across Nigeria have carried out fresh raids that led to the death of many terrorists, the arrest of 20 suspects, and the rescue of kidnapped victims within the last 24 hours.
The nationwide operations also resulted in the recovery of weapons, explosives, motorcycles, and stolen petroleum products.
In the North East, soldiers under Operation Hadin Kai disrupted planned attacks by ISWAP and Boko Haram fighters in Banki, Damboa, and Biu areas of Borno State. During the clashes, several terrorists were killed while arms, ammunition, and other supplies were seized. Among the recovered items were 36 hand grenades, five RPG bombs, 700 rounds of ammunition, uniforms, and logistics materials. Security forces also intercepted 32 bicycles and a truck carrying fertilizer believed to be intended for terrorist use.
In the North Central region, troops of Operation Enduring Peace rescued a kidnapped girl in Manchok, Kaduna State. Similarly, troops of Operation Whirl Stroke freed another victim in Benue State and recovered weapons and ammunition during the operation.
Other arrests took place in Sokoto, Taraba, Kebbi, and Plateau states, where kidnappers and armed robbers were captured. In Cross River State, soldiers detained a suspected cult member found with a roasted human leg. Additionally, troops destroyed illegal oil refining sites in Rivers State and dismantled bunkering facilities in Cross River.
Overall, between September 19 and 22, the joint operations led to the recovery of 10 AK-47 rifles, one FN rifle, five RPG bombs, 36 hand grenades, 39 motorcycles, 32 bicycles, explosives, chemicals, and vehicles.
