The South-South Development Commission (SSDC) has reiterated its readiness to work closely with the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) to expand educational access, enhance skills development, and promote youth empowerment across the South-South region.
Speaking during a strategic meeting with NELFUND’s management team, the Managing Director of SSDC, Ms. Usoro Akpabio, described education and youth training as vital pillars of national development. She commended the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for placing emphasis on education and youth-focused initiatives that foster growth and innovation.
Ms. Akpabio lauded NELFUND’s leadership for its effort in widening access to higher education financing for Nigerian students. She noted that the Commission’s objectives align with NELFUND’s mission of providing affordable student loans and ensuring equal opportunities for quality education nationwide.
According to her, the partnership between SSDC and NELFUND will create strong pathways that connect education to employment through skill acquisition, innovation, and digital inclusion programs designed to benefit youths in the South-South.
The SSDC Managing Director also expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for his continued support for young Nigerians and for creating initiatives like NELFUND, which empower youths to acquire skills, achieve their goals, and contribute meaningfully to national development.
