President Tinubu Set To Commission 7-Story NUPENG Tower December 4

President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ensuring the safety of the lives and property of Nigerians as part of efforts to fast-track national development.

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, stated this in Bida on Saturday during an interactive session of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Niger South Senatorial District (Zone A), as well as the inauguration of the Campaign Council for the November 1 local government council election in the state.

Mr Idris, who doubles as the chairman of the APC Campaign Council for the election, said the federal government remained resolute in restoring peace and stability in Niger and across the country.

According to him, Mr Tinubu’s administration will continue to give priority to the protection of the lives and property of all Nigerians.

He explained that the security agencies have been directed to do whatever it takes to restore peace and stability across the nation.

The minister urged Nigerians to continue to have faith in the reform agenda of the Tinubu-led government, saying the economy was gradually improving with more positive results expected in the near future.

“We should believe in the president’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“The economy is getting better, and this is just the beginning of many better things to come,” Mr Idris said.

He announced a personal donation of N100 million to support the APC campaign activities in the Niger South Senatorial District.

Each of the eight local government areas, Bida, Agaie, Lapai, Katcha, Edati, Mokwa, Lavun, and Gbako, received N10 million, while N20 million would be shared among the youths, women and party faithful that graced the occasion.

Mr Idris, however, said the event would not be for dancing to enable them to sympathise with the victims of recent bandit attacks in the Niger North Senatorial Zone, praying for divine comfort for the affected families.

He expressed confidence that the APC would emerge victorious in the forthcoming local government election and called for a peaceful, issue-based campaign.

“Politics is a game of numbers. There must always be winners and losers.

“Let us be magnanimous in victory and gallant in defeat, because we remain one indivisible family,” he said.

The minister advised party supporters to avoid violence, adding, “No one’s blood is worth any political position.”

He also reminded public office holders to always carry the masses along and ensure inclusiveness in governance.

Earlier, the APC zonal chairman in the state, Mohammed Yamini, urged members to remain proactive and avoid anti-party activities, adding that the party would reward federal constituencies with the highest performance after the election.
