Olateju stated that the international golf day provides a huge opportunity for young female golfers looking to play the game to do so, to achieve this, we have engaged 30 female caddies to play with and to empower them.

Also speaking, Ex-NAPTIP DG, Dame Julie Donli Okoh said Golf is a good workout for the mind and body and encouraged women to embrace the game as it will not just help develop their external ability but as well as their internal ability.

In the same vein, Competition and handicap Secretary, Jane Ahmed said the international women’s golf day started in 2017 and the idea is to empower girls and ladies to network.

According to her, golf can be an opportunity to network professionally, it can also just be a really fun activity with friends. Even better, the handicapping scoring system allows for players of all abilities to compete together. But if you are all beginners, then why not take a lesson together. There is nothing better than a good conversation and getting out a good sweat while golfing with your girlfriends, she said, adding that golf may help you find your life partner.

One of the cardies, Hannah Timothy who doubled as the Lady campion for cardies appreciated the IBB International Golf and country club, saying it is a real opportunity given to them.

She urged other cardies to come out from their hiding place and engage in golf activities, “let them come and practice with me so we could pick up champions that can defeat me in the golf. I am proud to be a lady champion and I will also keep it on and teach other female aspiring golfers. “
