Chief Edward Onoja, a Board Member of the South East Development Commission (SEDC) and former deputy governor of Kogi State, Chief Edward Onoja, has denied rumours circulating on social media about receiving a new appointment from President Bola Tinubu.
In a public statement, Onoja clarified that his current role as Board Member representing the North Central geopolitical zone remains his only portfolio.
“For the avoidance of doubt, my current and only portfolio remains that of Board Member, South East Development Commission (SEDC), representing the North Central geopolitical zone,” Onoja stated. He expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for the opportunity to serve in this capacity.
Onoja emphasised his commitment to his current assignment, highlighting the importance of working together to advance the President’s vision for the South East region and Nigeria. “I am fully committed to my present assignment and deeply focused on working with our Chairman, Managing Director, and esteemed colleagues,” he said.
The former Kogi State Deputy Governor also used the opportunity to urge Nigerians to put aside their differences and work towards a common goal.
“Beyond our regional or political affiliations, we are first and foremost Nigerians. Our shared destiny requires that we stand together, integrate our strengths, and unite our hearts in building the nation of our collective dreams,” he stated.
