Senator representing Cross River North Senatorial District, Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, has applauded his wife, Dr Offiong Jarigbe, for attaining a Doctorate Degree in Business Administration, describing the achievement as inspirational and deserving of celebration.
Dr Offiong received the honour during the 12th convocation ceremony of Baze University, Abuja, which attracted a distinguished audience.
Among the guests were the President of Sierra Leone, His Excellency Julius Maada Bio, the President of Senegal represented by the Senegalese Ambassador to Nigeria, Babacar Matar Ndiaye, and the Governor of Katsina State, His Excellency Dikko Umar Radda.
Speaking after the event, Senator Jarigbe commended his wife’s determination and hard work, noting that earning a doctorate while managing the responsibilities of family, career, and leadership stands out as a remarkable accomplishment worthy of emulation.
He encouraged women across the country not to downplay their dreams or intellectual aspirations, adding that Dr Offiong’s achievement underscores the importance of lifelong learning and continuous personal development.
“Your accomplishment should inspire women who combine the demands of raising families and running businesses while still striving for self improvement and academic advancement,” the Senator said.
Senator Jarigbe expressed confidence that the new academic height will unlock additional opportunities for impact and service, while wishing her continued success in her future endeavours.
The convocation also witnessed the award of degrees to graduating students across various faculties, as the institution reaffirmed its commitment to grooming leaders equipped with knowledge and character.
