The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday expelled former Rivers State Governor and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, alongside former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, and factional National Chairman, Samuel Anyanwu, over alleged anti-party activities.
Their expulsion was announced during the PDP National Convention held in Ibadan, where delegates unanimously endorsed the motion tabled by a founding member of the party, Chief Bode George. The motion was seconded by the Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed.
Also removed from the party were National Legal Adviser Adeyemi Ajibade (SAN), Umar Bature, AbdulRahman Mohammed, Mao Ohuabunwa, George Turner, Austin Nwachukwu, Abraham Ammah and Dan Orbih.
The convention continued with deliberations on party reforms and restructuring efforts following the expulsions.
