Raving young spoken-word prodigy, Muhammadu Buhari of the legendary Ochimane Brothers, set the hall alight at the 2025 Security and Emergency Response Awards in Abuja, delivering a performance that left the audience spellbound.
The event—graciously hosted by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA)—drew an impressive constellation of Nigeria’s security and communication heavyweights, including General Mohammed Buba Marwa (rtd), Chairman/CEO of NDLEA; General Chris Olukolade (rtd), Chairman of the Centre for Crisis Communication; Prof. Sule Yau Sule, Chairman of Image Merchants Promotions Ltd; and the FCT NSCDC Commandant, Olusola Odumosu, PhD, alongside other agency heads and dignitaries.
With a stirring poem titled “A People’s General,” young Muhammadu transported the hall through the life and legend of General Buba Marwa. In cadences both lyrical and commanding, he extolled Marwa’s virtues—his disciplined military upbringing, his transformational governance record, and his unprecedented revolution against drug trafficking and substance abuse in Nigeria.
The performance, equal parts tribute and thunder, earned nods of admiration from the audience and a warm, approving smile from Marwa himself—proving once again that art, when truthfully spoken, has the power to honor greatness and inspire a generation.
