The All Progressives Congress in Cross River State has removed its Chairman, Alphonsus Eba, following his refusal to step down despite sustained pressure from stakeholders within the party.
Subsequently, the State Executive Committee has appointed Ntufam Ekum Ojogu as Acting Chairman. He will manage the party’s affairs until a state congress is held to confirm his position.
Party officials explained that the action complies with Section 17(6) of the APC constitution, which authorises the SEC to appoint an acting chairman when the substantive chairman is removed from office.
Further updates are expected.
