2023: Ajaka, Ododo And The Defining Moment For Kogites
By Monday Omale Ette
The politics of Kogi State is overtime defined by intrigues, fierce competition and other jostling that Precedes every electioneering period since the creation of the state. While the state is governed badly by the incumbent governor Yahaya Bello for over seven years, the white Lion as he is nicknamed decided to play a tribal card by fielding an Ododo that is unpopular and by far unqualified for the most coveted office in the confluence.
It is public knowledge that the APC in Kogi has failed to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people, worst they have divided the state along ethnic lines thereby setting the citizens against themselves. Since the APC is a failure and a party the people cannot trust to engineer the required positive change in the state and the PDP fielded former Senator Dino Melaye that is also not a gubernatorial material, it is left for a political party like the SDP to field a better candidate that can defeat either of the APC or PDP, this the SDP did with a masterstroke of MuriSam.
The emergence of Alhaji MURTALA YAKUBU AJAKA as the Social Democratic Party (SDP) flag bearer in the coming November election against all odd is historic and a feet worth celebrating by all lovers of democracy given the outcome of the APC primaries which is a negation to progress, unity and development. GYB is sleepless because of Muri’s candidacy, the gutless lion is on rampage subjecting all against his proxy third term to inhumane treatment.
Kogites will choose Alh. Ajaka over any other candidate on the ballot. This is because the puppet of the failed incumbent governor of Kogi State doesn’t have the required exposure, experience and understanding of the models of 21st century leadership. Ododo cannot represent kogites, Ododo is too timid to address the people he wants to lead, he relies on a godfather to make decisions and he’s a part and parcel of the people that impoverished kogites.
Ododo is totally helpless because he doesn’t have the actual skills required of a political leader: He lacks situational empathy, ability to negotiate, ability to share power and collaborate, openness to scrutiny, vision, compassion etc. As a former Auditor General of LG, civil servants needed not to be told of his brutal nature.
According to Ragnar Ragnarok”power is only given to those who are prepared to lower themselves to pick it up”, in this regard, Murtala Yakubu Ajaka has proven himself worthy and humble enough to lower and submit himself to the service of Kogites both home and in diaspora. In the race for November, no candidate comes close to Ajaka and no candidate is better prepared as him to end the reign of the tyrannical lion and rescue the state from the already instituted system of injustice.
The difference between inept Ododo and competent Murtala Ajaka is very clear. While Ajaka is contesting to liberate kogites from years of misrule, hunger, poverty, injustice, non payments of salaries, youth unemployment, infrastructural decay, the “lichest married woman of a candidate” is contesting to protect GYB from litigations that will follow after his tenure, continue the impoverishment of kogites, tribalism, non payments of salaries and cripple the state.
It is safer for kogites to choose the SDP in November because only Alhaji MURTALA YAKUBU AJAKA has the masses interest at heart and only him can better Kogi state.  Kogi is divided, Murtala Yakubu Ajaka can unite her.
