Dr. Sunday Bala Oma, a prominent philanthropist and former Kogi State governorship aspirant, has been conferred with two distinct international honours in recognition of his extensive contributions to human capital development over the past 17 years.
Dr. Oma, who is the President and Founder of the Sunday Bala Oma Foundation (SBOF), was decorated as a Professional Fellow by the Artificial Intelligence Management Finance Institute (Prof. FAIMFIN). In a concurrent ceremony, he was also awarded an Honorary Doctorate degree—Doctor of Leadership & Community Development Honoris Causa—by the Eagle Versity Royal Professional University Missouri, United States.
According to a statement released by the foundation, the accolades acknowledge Dr. Oma’s unwavering commitment to empowering Nigerian youth. Through his NGO, Dr. Oma’s initiatives have facilitated training and empowerment programs for numerous young Nigerians, in addition to providing scholarship opportunities for beneficiaries abroad.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Dr. Oma dedicated the honours to everyday Nigerians working towards national development.
“I thank God for this rare privilege accorded me once again. I dedicate this award to you, striving to contribute your quota to nation building,” he said. “Let’s not relent in doing good because only through pains, groans and great sacrifices are nations built with lasting legacies. We must continue to dare to contribute our quota, no matter how little.”
The event also saw several other national and global leaders recognised for their respective contributions.
The Sunday Bala Oma Foundation, operating under the motto “Impacting lives, changing communities,” continues to focus on human capital development as a tool for social change.
