The Chairman of Idris HK Foundation, Idris Hussein Kashim, has dismissed a letter from the All Progressives Congress (APC) Ajaka Ward 1 denying his past membership as “undeserving of serious attention”. The letter, which lacks a date, claims Kashim was never a member of the party.
Kashim, who contested the governorship primaries under the APC platform in 2015, questioned the authenticity of the denial, citing his expression of interest form and e-registration slip. “If I was never a member, how was I eligible to contest?” he asked.
Kashim alleged the APC’s actions are a tactic to discredit him, stating, “Anyone who becomes influential and garners the support of our people or refuses to play errand boy is suddenly declared ‘never a member’.” He claimed to have resigned formally from the party and accused the APC of trying to rewrite history.
Despite the controversy, Kashim remains undeterred, focusing on his foundation’s efforts to improve lives in Kogi East. “We can’t be distracted. We’re dedicating our time to more serious activities that will better the lives of the good people of Kogi East,” he said.
