2027: Jarigbe Flags Off Consultations with Obudu Stakeholders Visit

By Abasi Ita

The Senator representing Cross River North Senatorial District, Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, has begun a fresh round of political consultations with a strategic visit to the Chairman of Obudu Local Government Area, Peter Akonfe Undiandeye.

The meeting, held at the chairman’s residence shortly after the senator’s arrival in Obudu, signals the start of wider engagements with political actors and community leaders across the senatorial district ahead of the 2027 elections.

Senator Jarigbe, who arrived with a delegation of allies and stakeholders, said the visit formed a critical part of his grassroots consultation strategy, noting that engaging local leaders remains central to his political approach.

“This is the beginning of my consultations. It is important to identify with leaders at all levels as we move forward,” he stated.

Welcoming the senator, Chief Tony Undiandeye praised his sustained support for the Cross River State Governor, Bassey Otu, and the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, especially following his alignment with the All Progressives Congress.

He observed that Jarigbe’s visit reflects growing political strength and increasing backing among party leaders, stakeholders and constituents within the district.

Former member of the House of Representatives, Gabriel Edi, also described the gathering as significant, citing the turnout of stakeholders as evidence of unity and shared political direction in Cross River North.

He called on constituents to support the senator’s reelection bid, stressing that continuity would enhance collaboration with both the state and federal governments for greater development.

The visit attracted several prominent stakeholders including Chief Timmy Tom, Chief Igbe Aruku, Hon. Martins Orim, Dr. Dornclaimz Enamhe, Hon. Paddy Uguge, Wabily Nyiam, Hon. Chris Agbe, Hon. Thomas Agi, Uko Inaku and Hon. Bravo Gabriel Oluohu.

The Obudu engagement is expected to pave the way for further consultations across the senatorial district as political activities gradually gather pace ahead of the next general elections.
