The Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has condemned the recent killing of residents in Plateau State, calling the attack a stark indictment of Nigeria’s failure to secure its citizens.
In a strongly worded statement shared on her Facebook page on Monday, the lawmaker expressed outrage over the persistent violence in Plateau communities, where repeated attacks have left dozens dead in recent months.
Akpoti-Uduaghan directed her remarks at the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, recalling the firm assurances he gave during his Senate screening. She noted that Nigerians are still awaiting tangible results.
“Dear General Christopher Musa, Angwan Rukuba is another brutal reminder that Nigerians remain unprotected,” she wrote. “During your screening at the Senate chambers, your words were filled with promises and I allowed myself a sigh of relief… at last, I thought.”
The senator demanded immediate and decisive action from the Defence Chief, insisting that he either deliver on security or make way for someone who can.
“Well, prove NOW you are different and secure lives, or step aside,” she stated. “Enough of condolences. Enough of excuses. Nigerians want action, protection, and results!!”
