Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Ododo, has approved the appointment of the immediate past Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Alhaji Abdullahi Bello, popularly known as “Dollar,” as a commissioner-designate.
The announcement was made in a statement issued on Thursday by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Mrs. Folashade Arike Ayoade.
According to the statement, the appointment follows the resignation of the Commissioner for Works, Mohammed Yusuf. In a related minor cabinet reshuffle, the Governor also approved the redeployment of Barrister Salami Ozigi Deedat from the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs to the Ministry of Works.
“The Governor has approved the appointment of the immediate past Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Abdullahi Bello, popularly known as Dollar, as a Commissioner-Designate,” the statement read. It added that Bello would now undergo screening and confirmation by the Kogi State House of Assembly.
Governor Ododo expressed gratitude to the outgoing commissioner for his service to the state and wished him success in his future endeavors.
