Kogi 2023: Jibrin’s Gov’ship Ambition Crash Lands As Achuba, Ugbane, Ubolo, Others Make U-turn

In a significant turn of events ahead of the forthcoming governorship election in Kogi State, some elders of Kogi East extraction, otherwise known as critical stakeholders, have decided to review their stance and withdraw their support for the Accord Party governorship candidate, Vice Admiral Usman Jibrin.

In a meeting that lasted for several hours in the residence of Elder Simon Achuba, the former deputy governor of Kogi State, the committee issued a communiqué that mandated every member to bring whatever support or commitment to the ambitions of the former Chief of Naval Staff to a halt.

According to an insider who pleaded anonymity, the meeting was borne out of the Accord Party governorship candidate’s inability to prioritize the well-being of the committee, which has in its own way coughed everything out for the success of the project.

They also lamented heavily on the unavailability of funds, which by all standards ought to aid their effective functioning at the grassroots.

Elder Simon Achuba, Itodo Ubolo Okpanachi, Senator Dangana Ocheja, and Senator Nicholas Yahaya Ugbame, amongst other prominent elders, were in attendance when the resolution was reached.

As it stands, problems seem to be brewing heavily in the Camp of Vice Admiral Usman Jibrin following the meeting held on Thursday, August 31, 2023, in the residence of Elder Simon Achuba.

All efforts to bring the stakeholders back to the camp have proven abortive as frustration deepens in Admiral Usman Jibrin’s camp.

However, the source confided that the stakeholders will, in the coming days, announce their stands as the governorship election draws near.
