‘Obidients’ React to Abike’s Remark About Movement

The Chairperson of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has taken a swipe at the ”Obidients’ – supporters of a former Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, describing them as a group capable of posing challenges to the opposition leader.

Mrs Dabiri-Erewa in a series of post on her X formerly Twitter, said Mr Peter raised “monsters” through the conduct of his supporters, stating that he bears responsibility for the conducts of his followers.

“@PeterObi has actually raised monsters,” she said in her post on Sunday.

The NiDCOM boss noted that if political power eventually shifts to the South-East and Mr Obi emerges as a contender, the same supporters could become his undoing if not properly managed.

“By God’s grace @officialABAT will win the 2027 elections. When it’s the turn of the South-East, and who knows, if the lot falls on him, I hope he knows that these obingos/Obidients will ironically be his downfall. He needs to call them to order,” she tweeted,” she said.

Mrs Dabiri-Erewa remarks attracted angry reactions from some of the Obidients, who took to social media to question her integrity as a public office holder who also accusing her of hypocrisy.

One of the tweet @veeno_26 wrote, “Madam mugu… You are complaining… Where you not the same person that called Patience Jonathan brain-dead and an embarrassment to Nigerians? Madman, what’s good for the goose is good for the gander (sic). Enjoy the trolling and insults cos you also once did the same. Karma is a bitc.”

Another X user, IjobaChuks @Marcoshaw07, wrote, “Must you show your gullible bigoted behavior to the world madam. If you got nothing to say just STFU🤫everytime Peter Obi and he’s not even president. You’re inconsequential for where him dey.”

However, her comments followed a video she shared of her visit to the Silicon Valley, California, United States of America, where she met with some Nigerian professionals willing to contribute their expertise to the country’s growth.

The post was accompanied with a video of Mrs Dabiri-Erewa on a ride inside a driverless car and appreciating one Kunle Adeyemo for the tour.

Mrs Dabiri-Erewa who replied the comments of the Obidients on her page stated that her position as a public official would not prevent her from expressing personal views.

“This is my personal account. You can hack it again if you so wish. So because I’m a public official, I should keep quiet to rada rada rede rede of @PeterObi ‘s toxic obidients??”

Mrs Dabiri-Erewa, continued to engage Mr Obi’s supporters in a series of post retreated her stance on the knocks the Obidients supporters.

She described some of the supporters as

“toxic, “warning that their actions could undermine Mr Obi’s political ambition.

She said, “You are exposing yourself. And your fellow obi-dients. Toxic people. And I will repeat it again. These monsters will be @PeterObi’s nemesis if he does not call them to order.”

“😀😀@obidients obingos. They will eventually be @PeterObi ‘s downfall if he does not call them to order.”
