Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State on Sunday welcomed former governor and senator, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, back into the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing his return as a significant boost for the party in the state.
This was disclosed in a statement issued in Kano by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mustapha Muhammad.
According to the statement, Governor Yusuf said a date for the formal reception of the former governor into the APC will be fixed in consultation with the party’s national secretariat.
The governor noted that the APC in Kano State continues to witness growing support and consolidation, positioning itself as the dominant political force in the state.
He added that the party is battle-ready to win all elective positions in the upcoming elections, citing unity and strategic alignments as key drivers of the party’s confidence.
Governor Yusuf further assured party members and supporters that the APC leadership remains committed to strengthening internal cohesion and expanding its grassroots base across the state.
