Chief of Staff to the Cross River State Governor, Emmanuel Ironbar, has called on political actors and party supporters to adopt door to door engagement as preparations intensify for the 2027 general elections.
Ironbar made the appeal on Tuesday while addressing ward leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress at a rally held in support of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Bassey Otu.
He stressed that relying solely on rallies and media outreach is no longer sufficient, noting that direct interaction with voters at the grassroots will play a decisive role in future electoral victories.
According to him, meaningful engagement requires visiting communities, listening to the concerns of residents, and clearly explaining government policies and programmes.
Ironbar said the current administration under Governor Otu has recorded notable progress in infrastructure, healthcare, and security, but added that such achievements must be effectively communicated to the people.
He maintained that direct contact with voters remains the most effective way to counter misinformation and opposition narratives, urging party members to prioritise personal outreach over social media messaging.
The Chief of Staff also directed party structures across the 18 local government areas of the state to begin immediate mobilisation efforts, including recruiting volunteers for grassroots campaigns.
He further disclosed that plans are underway to introduce an empowerment programme aimed at supporting party loyalists and strengthening mobilisation ahead of the elections.
Ironbar reiterated the need for sustained grassroots engagement, urging supporters to remain committed to consolidating the gains of the current administration.
