Yusuf Buhari, son of former President Muhammadu Buhari, has thanked stakeholders within the party after emerging as the consensus candidate for the House of Representatives seat to represent Daura, Sandamu, and Mai’adua Federal Constituency of Katsina State.
In a post on Friday, he expressed gratitude and pledged commitment to deeper engagement with his constituency.
“Alhamdulillah, I humbly accept the nomination with a deep sense of gratitude and responsibility. I remain committed to strengthening engagement with our people and working collaboratively to deliver a meaningful and lasting impact for the benefit of all, in Sha Allah,” he wrote.
He emerged as the consensus candidate after a stakeholders’ meeting held in Katsina on April 28, where he was unanimously adopted by party leaders.
The decision was announced by the chairman of the Consensus Committee for Daura Zone, Ahmed Dangiwa, a former Minister of Housing and Urban Development.
Also speaking, Mannir Musa, APC chairman of Mai’adua Local Government Area, urged party members to accept the outcome in good faith.
“I urge all our people to be obedient and accept the consensus reached by the committee and stakeholders in good faith. We should all work together for the unity and progress of the party and our people,” he said.
