The Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas, has solicited support for his re-election bid alongside the re-election of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He stated this during an interactive session with the campaign organisation of the State Coordinator of Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Alhaji Sani Danladi Abubakar, in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital.
The meeting, held at the residence of the Coordinator, brought together supporters, political associates, and stakeholders of the organisation to harmonise ideas and strategize ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He also endorsed all first-time legislators seeking re-election to both the State and National Assemblies, stressing the need for continuity in governance and representation.
According to him, the decision of Alhaji Sani Danladi Abubakar not to contest presents an opportunity for stakeholders to unite and work collectively toward the success of President Tinubu’s re-election and his own second-term ambition.
The Governor emphasised the importance of unity and cooperation among party members to ensure continued development and political stability in Taraba State.
In his remarks, Alhaji Sani Danladi Abubakar reaffirmed his decision not to contest, explaining that the move was made in the overall interest of unity within the state and the APC.
He urged members and supporters of his political organisation to remain committed to the party and support Governor Agbu Kefas and President Tinubu in the forthcoming elections.
Stakeholders at the meeting, including Ambassador Jerry Manwe and the Taraba State APC Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Bawa, commended the Governor for what they described as his inclusive leadership style and pledged support for his re-election bid.
Governor Agbu Kefas is also expected to meet with other campaign organisations as part of efforts to build consensus and ensure a peaceful and rancour-free 2027 electoral process in the state.
