Abia Reps Aspirant Backs Peter Obi, Says He Will End Insecurity Within Months in Office

A House of Representatives aspirant in Abia State under the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Ugochukwu Okoji, has expressed confidence that the party’s presidential hopeful, Peter Obi, is capable of resolving Nigeria’s escalating insecurity challenges within a short time if elected president.

Okoji, who is contesting for the Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency seat, made the remarks on Friday during a meeting with party supporters and stakeholders.

The university lecturer described the NDC as a political platform ready to address Nigeria’s social, economic, and security difficulties, adding that Obi has a deep understanding of the country’s complex problems.

He maintained that the former Anambra State governor possesses the experience, exposure, and leadership qualities needed to restore security nationwide within the early months of his administration.

“NDC offers the real solution to Nigeria’s numerous challenges. Peter Obi understands the complexity of the nation and has the experience and political exposure required to address insecurity within the first few months of becoming president,” he stated.

Speaking further on his own political ambition, Okoji said his decision to vie for the National Assembly was informed by what he called years of inadequate representation and underdevelopment in his constituency.

He pledged to sponsor pro-people legislation aimed at improving healthcare delivery, infrastructure development, and social welfare services across the country.

Okoji also promised to prioritise reforms in the education sector, especially strengthening public institutions, drawing from his background as a university lecturer.

“My intention in going to the National Assembly is to improve the living standards of my constituents. They have endured enough neglect,” he said.

“I am determined to end the long history of poor representation. My people deserve better political leadership and renewed hope in governance. I have the intellectual, creative, and legislative capacity to transform our constituency positively.”

He further assured voters that, if elected, he would attract meaningful development projects to boost growth and improve living conditions in the area.
