The Action Alliance (AA) has officially announced its National Chairman, Adekunle Rufai Omoaje, as its presidential candidate for the 2027 general election, marking the party’s formal entry into the race for Nigeria’s top political office.
Omoaje, a politician from Ede in Osun State, accepted the nomination at a ceremony held in Abuja on Saturday, where he pledged to deliver purposeful leadership anchored on unity, good governance, and national development.
Speaking shortly after his emergence, he described the nomination as a shared victory for party members, dedicating the achievement to God, his family, and supporters across the country.
He expressed gratitude for what he called divine guidance throughout his political journey, stressing that his emergence was not personal success but a collective outcome of loyalty and resilience within the party.
Omoaje also commended his family for standing by him during what he described as a challenging political and legal process, noting that their support played a key role in sustaining his ambition.
He further appreciated journalists and media organisations for their coverage of the party’s internal disputes, praising their commitment to fairness and democratic accountability.
According to him, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has also played a crucial role by respecting court rulings and reinforcing the rule of law, which he said is vital to democratic stability.
The AA presidential flagbearer promised that if elected in 2027, his administration would be guided by integrity, fairness, and national renewal.
He called on party members to remain united ahead of the elections, expressing confidence that the Action Alliance could offer Nigerians a credible alternative in the next general poll.
