Nigeria’s Super Eagles gave a commanding display on Saturday in London, defeating Jamaica 3–0 in the Unity Cup final to secure their fourth championship in the competition’s history.
The match began on a bright note for Nigeria, with Alhassan Yusuf breaking the deadlock in the 3rd minute after a sharp attacking move that caught the Jamaican defence off guard.
From there, the Super Eagles controlled proceedings, dominating possession and maintaining defensive discipline while restricting Jamaica’s attacking threats and creating multiple scoring chances of their own.
Nigeria extended their lead in the 59th minute through Terem Moffi, whose strike further strengthened their grip on the contest and left Jamaica struggling for a response.
In added time, Philip Otele put the game beyond doubt with a 90th-minute goal, sealing a convincing 3–0 victory for the Nigerian side.
A post shared via the Super Eagles’ official X handle confirmed that the triumph cements Nigeria as the most successful team in Unity Cup history, now boasting four titles.
The Unity Cup has also been officially recognised as a FIFA Tier 1 international tournament, meaning all matches are fully sanctioned under FIFA regulations and count as official international fixtures.
