Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has claimed that his administration has achieved about 90 per cent of its campaign promises within three years in office.
Yusuf made the assertion on Saturday while hosting the Emir of Rano, Ambassador Muhammad Isa Umaru, who paid him a Sallah homage at the Kano Government House.
According to a statement issued by the Director-General, Media and Publicity, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the governor said his government has remained focused on delivering democratic dividends through projects and policies targeted at improving the welfare of residents.
He said his administration has recorded notable progress across key sectors, including education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, water supply, youth empowerment, and economic development.
Yusuf maintained that the interventions were designed to raise living standards and ensure balanced development across the state.
“I am pleased to state that our administration has successfully fulfilled about 90 per cent of the promises we made to the people of Kano State within three years of assuming office,” he said.
He further assured that efforts would continue to ensure the completion of remaining projects before the end of his tenure, stressing that no part of the state would be left behind in development initiatives.
“We are determined to complete the remaining promises before the end of our tenure. We will continue to sustain the pace of development and ensure that every part of Kano State benefits from our programmes and projects,” he added.
The governor also highlighted ongoing and planned projects for the Rano Emirate, including the expansion and dualisation of the Karfi–Rano Road, provision of subsidised fertiliser to farmers, and renovation of the Emir’s Palace.
He thanked the people of the emirate for their continued support and confidence in his administration, promising sustained development efforts.
Earlier, the Emir of Rano commended the governor for what he described as significant achievements, particularly in road construction and water projects across the emirate.
The monarch praised completed road projects in Rano, Kibiya, and Bunkure, as well as the ongoing Kaluwaiwai Water Project, noting that they have improved economic activities in the area.
He also lauded efforts to upgrade the Rano Emirate Hospital to a Federal Medical Centre and convert the School of Rural Technology, Rano, into a Federal Polytechnic, describing them as landmark developments.
The Emir assured the governor of continued support from the people of the emirate in promoting peace, stability, and development across Kano State.
