Paris Saint-Germain winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has been named the UEFA Champions League Player of the Season for 2025/26 following a standout campaign.
The Georgian international earned the honour after an impressive run of performances that saw him play a decisive role in PSG’s title defence, contributing 10 goals and six assists across 16 appearances.
His impact was evident throughout the knockout stages, including a crucial penalty won in the semi-final clash against Arsenal, which helped PSG secure a dramatic route to the final after a 4-3 penalty shootout victory following a 1-1 draw.
The award was decided by UEFA’s technical observer panel, made up of about 30 football experts, including notable figures such as Gareth Southgate, Ole Gunnar Solskjær, and Rafael BenÃtez.
The panel described Kvaratskhelia’s season as both influential and spectacular, highlighting his consistency and match-winning contributions in key moments.
One of his most memorable displays came in PSG’s thrilling 5-4 semi-final first-leg victory over Bayern Munich, where he scored twice, including a curling equaliser and a powerful second-half strike.
He also delivered important goals in earlier rounds, netting three times across both legs against Chelsea in the Round of 16 and scoring again against Liverpool in the quarter-finals.
The 25-year-old further capped his campaign by scoring in the 2025 final, where PSG secured a dominant 5-0 win over Inter Milan.
UEFA’s observers concluded that his performances were central to PSG’s success, marking him out as one of the competition’s most decisive players of the season.
