Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, has urged residents of the state to forgive perceived shortcomings of his administration and those of elected representatives, while appealing for continued support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
Nwifuru made the appeal on Sunday during a thanksgiving service held at the Government House Chapel in Abakaliki, marking the third anniversary of his administration.
Speaking to worshippers, political leaders, government officials and religious stakeholders, the governor admitted that errors may have occurred at different levels of governance, including the state House of Assembly and the National Assembly members representing the state.
He stressed that public office holders are not infallible, adding that governance is a continuous learning process that requires patience and understanding from citizens.
“Please forgive us; forgive me, members of the National Assembly and the House of Assembly. Forgive our shortcomings and give us another chance,” he said.
Reflecting on his three years in office, the governor expressed appreciation to God for what he described as notable progress recorded by his administration. He maintained that leadership demands humility and consistent engagement with the needs of the people.
Nwifuru also noted that while no government is perfect, his administration remains committed to strengthening service delivery, improving infrastructure, and expanding the reach of democratic dividends across communities in Ebonyi State.
He further reaffirmed his government’s resolve to sustain ongoing development programmes aimed at improving living standards and welfare across the state.
