Cleric Calls for Stronger Security Measures, Nationwide Prayers Ahead 2027 Polls

The General Overseer of Threshing Floor Watchman Assembly, Archbishop Gimbright Adaigho, has urged government authorities at all levels to intensify efforts to address Nigeria’s persistent security challenges as preparations for the 2027 general elections gather momentum.

Speaking during the consecration and installation of Bishop Ovye John Attah in Lafia, Nasarawa State, on Saturday, the cleric said the country’s economic hardship and insecurity require both practical solutions and spiritual intervention.

Adaigho encouraged Christians to remain unwavering in faith despite the nation’s current difficulties, stressing that prayer remains essential in overcoming the challenges facing Nigeria.

According to him, the country needs committed intercessors who can seek divine guidance for leaders and help steer the nation toward peace and progress.

He urged believers to pray for those in positions of authority, asking God to grant them wisdom and direction in tackling insecurity and economic concerns affecting citizens.

The Archbishop also described the newly installed Bishop Attah as a dedicated servant of God whose elevation reflected years of proven character, sound doctrine, and faithful service. He expressed confidence that the appointment would strengthen unity within the church and among Christians generally.

He further advised church leaders and members to uphold holiness, foster unity, and remain committed to evangelism.

In his acceptance speech, Bishop Attah promised to sustain the church’s vision and continue its mission of prayer, spiritual watchfulness, and the preaching of God’s word.

He stated that his responsibility would be to shepherd the congregation, raise spiritual watchmen for the nation, and ensure the church remains a centre for spiritual transformation.

Delivering a goodwill message, the Nasarawa State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev. Sunday Emmah, congratulated the new bishop and described his elevation as a recognition of years of faithful service to God and humanity.

Emmah praised Attah’s leadership qualities, noting that his ministry had positively impacted many lives and contributed to strengthening the Christian community. He expressed confidence that the bishop’s new role would expand his influence and ministry.

Threshing Floor Watchman Assembly, known for its emphasis on prayer, holiness, and prophetic ministry, operates across the 13 local government areas of Nasarawa State.

The installation ceremony, held at the church’s headquarters in Lafia, attracted a large gathering of worshippers, clergy, traditional rulers, and other guests. Activities at the event included worship sessions, ordination rites, and goodwill messages from religious and community leaders.
