Education Funding Not Government’s Sole Responsibility — Kaduna Govt

The Governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani, has said that the responsibility of educating children cannot rest solely on government, stressing the need for broader collaboration among key stakeholders in the education sector.

Sani made the remark over the weekend while commissioning a facility developed by the Christian Academy Management in Ungwan Bulus, Sabon Tasha area of Kaduna State, according to a report by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

The governor, who was represented by the state Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr. James Kanyip, noted that sustainable progress in education requires strong partnerships between government, communities, religious bodies, and private sector actors.

He emphasised that no single institution can drive meaningful transformation in the sector alone.

According to him, initiatives from private and faith-based organisations are vital complements to government efforts and should be encouraged.

Sani described the newly inaugurated facility as a symbol of hope and development, adding that investments in education remain central to building human capital, peace, and long-term prosperity.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting individuals and organisations contributing to educational development in the state.

The governor also highlighted ongoing reforms aimed at improving infrastructure, expanding access, and enhancing the quality of education across Kaduna State.

He said the government’s objective is to ensure education becomes accessible, affordable, and inclusive for every child.

Sani further stated that facilities such as the newly commissioned centre play a critical role in shaping learners, building character, and developing future leaders.

He commended the Christian Academy Management for its investment in education, describing it as a clear demonstration of shared responsibility in nation-building through human capital development.
