Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – The Embassy of Nigeria in Riyadh has unveiled the official portrait of His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Yakubu Gambo, marking his distinguished service as Nigeria’s envoy to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with concurrent accreditation to the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Yemen.
“This is the official portrait of His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Yakubu Gambo,” the embassy stated, noting that it “marks his distinguished service as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with concurrent accreditation to the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Yemen.”
According to the embassy, “The portrait symbolizes Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening diplomatic relations, fostering mutual cooperation, and advancing shared interests with the host nations.” Displayed at the Embassy of Nigeria in Riyadh, the image “reflects the dignity, responsibility, and dedication associated with the office of the Ambassador.”
The portrait also “serves as a representation of Nigeria’s diplomatic presence and its enduring commitment to promoting peace, economic partnership, cultural exchange, and the welfare of Nigerians residing within the Kingdom and across the region,” the statement added.
Amb. Dr. Gambo, who also holds the traditional titles of Talban Bwari and Magajin Garin Jere, has been at the forefront of deepening Nigeria-Saudi economic and cultural ties, particularly in trade, investment, education, and the welfare of the Nigerian community in the Gulf.
The unveiling comes at a time when Nigeria is intensifying diplomatic engagement with Gulf nations to attract investment and expand bilateral cooperation beyond oil and energy.
