The Plateau State Police Command has confirmed the killing of three security operatives following an attack on the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, in the early hours of Monday.

‎In a statement issued on Tuesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Alfred Alabo, the command described the incident as unfortunate and disclosed that the affected personnel were on official duty at the time of the attack.

‎Following the assault, the Commissioner of Police, CP Bassey Ewah, ordered the deployment of additional security personnel to the area, while patrol operations around the institution were intensified to prevent further threats.
‎
‎The police assured residents that the situation had been brought under control and that normal activities had resumed in the area.
‎
‎Authorities also confirmed that investigations are underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the attack, urging members of the public to remain calm and continue with their lawful activities.
‎
‎The command noted that further details would be made available as the investigation progresses.
