Ekiti Election: Mark, Aregbesola Slam APC, Urge Residents to Vote ADC

The African Democratic Congress National Chairman, David Mark, and National Secretary, Rauf Aregbesola, on Thursday berated the All Progressives Congress government in Ekiti State over alleged dismal performance in office in the last three and a half years.

The ADC leaders, who spoke in Ado Ekiti during the Mega Rally for the party’s governorship candidate in Saturday’s election in Ekiti State, Dare Bejide, described the party as the credible alternative to give Ekiti people a good life.

Mark, in his brief address, told the gathering, “Vote for our candidate, Bejide, so that the Ekiti of your dream can be built. Give your votes to ADC”.

The ADC chairman, who urged residents of the state to rally behind ADC, said, “This party with its candidate, Ambassador Dare Bejide, remains the only group capable of salvaging Ekiti from the claws of poverty”.

In his address to the crowd of members and supporters, the party’s scribe, Aregbesola, said that the governing party and its candidate, Biodun Oyebanji, could not win reelection on Saturday owing to poor performance.

Aregbesola, a former governor of Osun State, dismissed insinuations that ADC lacked the strength to challenge the ruling party, insisting that the true test of popularity would be at the polls on Saturday.

Aregbesola said, “We will meet at the poll. The APC has failed at the three tiers of government. APC may want to underestimate the opposition because of appearances, but such assumptions will prove costly.

He maintained that the ADC would win the election if the process was free and fair, alleging that the ruling party would have no chance without manipulating the outcome.

He said, “I’m very happy that you are doing it here. If it’s more than this, it will become a problem. They say a needle is very small, but no hen can try to swallow it.

Aregbesola, who hailed the women for their roles in elections, urged them to vote in their numbers for ADC on Saturday and ensure that their votes counted.
