APC Presents Chairmanship, Councillorship Candidates Ahead of Gombe LG Polls

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially unveiled its candidates for the forthcoming local government elections in Gombe State, presenting party flags to 24 chairmanship aspirants and 240 councillorship candidates.

‎

‎The flag presentation ceremony took place during a major party rally held at Pantami Stadium and was attended by top APC leaders, elected officials, and supporters from across the state.

‎

‎Leading the event were APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, and Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, who formally handed over the party symbols to the candidates contesting seats across the state’s 11 local government areas and 13 local council development areas.

‎

‎Addressing party supporters, Governor Yahaya expressed confidence that the APC would secure victory in the upcoming local government elections. He described Gombe as a loyal APC state and reaffirmed the party’s commitment to delivering electoral success in future contests, including the 2027 general elections.

‎

‎The rally attracted thousands of supporters from the state’s 114 wards and nearly 3,000 polling units, showcasing what party leaders described as the APC’s strong grassroots presence.

‎

‎APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru, commended Governor Yahaya’s administration for its developmental projects and called on the party’s leadership to endorse the governor’s performance. He also expressed optimism that President Bola Tinubu would win re-election in 2027.

‎

‎Prof. Yilwatda highlighted achievements of the Federal Government under the Renewed Hope Agenda and pointed to the party’s recent electoral victories as evidence of growing public support ahead of future elections.

‎

‎The event concluded with the presentation of party flags to all chairmanship and councillorship candidates, signalling the official commencement of the APC’s campaign for the local government polls.

‎

‎Several members of the APC National Working Committee, lawmakers, and party stakeholders were also present at the gathering.
