Keffi Land Dispute: Ladan Accuses Ex-Commissioner, NUDA DG of Controversial Property Takeover

By- Alhaji Rabo Ladan Keffi

‎Alhaji Rabo Ladan of Keffi, Nasarawa State, has raised serious allegations over a disputed property said to belong to the late Alhaji Sule Turaki Danladi, accusing former Commissioner of Works and current Director-General of the Nasarawa Urban Development Agency (NUDA), Engr. Wada Adamus, of involvement in an alleged attempt to take over the property through questionable legal processes.

‎Speaking on the matter, Alhaji Rabo Ladan said he has been overseeing properties left behind by the late Alhaji Sule Turaki Danladi when Engr. Wada Adamus allegedly informed him that one of the properties had been sold to a man identified as Al-Basi, a soldier reportedly residing in Lagos.

‎

‎According to Alhaji Rabo Ladan, the matter was taken before High Court 2 in Keffi, where he and other family representatives demanded documentary evidence to prove the alleged sale. He claimed that the document presented as proof lacked a valid signature and could not sufficiently establish ownership of the property.

‎

‎He further alleged that the property was said to have been sold for ₦5 million despite what he described as the absence of credible documentation, witnesses, or evidence to support the transaction.

‎

‎Alhaji Rabo Ladan accused Engr. Wada Adamus of using his influence as a government official to facilitate the takeover of the property, alleging that structures on the land were demolished despite the dispute being before the courts.

‎

‎He further claimed that individuals presented as lawyers and representatives of the family participated in court proceedings without the knowledge or consent of the legitimate heirs of the late Alhaji Sule Turaki Danladi. According to him, a purported settlement was presented before the court and later formed part of the basis for a judgment delivered in favour of Al-Basi.

‎

‎Alhaji Rabo Ladan alleged that the family subsequently discovered what they believe were false representations made during the proceedings and insisted that the matter remains the subject of ongoing legal action.

‎

‎The complainant also alleged that construction work recently commenced on the disputed property during the night. Upon receiving information about the development, he said he visited the site accompanied by a friend and found security personnel and local vigilantes stationed there to prevent access.

‎

‎According to him, tensions rose when residents gathered at the scene, resulting in a near breakdown of law and order before calm was eventually restored. He further alleged that the construction work was being carried out using generators under the cover of darkness.

‎

‎Questioning the circumstances surrounding the nighttime activities, Alhaji Rabo Ladan maintained that the ownership dispute remains unresolved and vowed to continue pursuing legal remedies until the matter is conclusively determined by the courts.

‎

‎The allegations contained in this report are solely the claims of Alhaji Rabo Ladan and have not been independently verified. Engr. Wada Adamus, Al-Basi, and other parties mentioned in the allegations had not publicly responded to the claims at the time of filing this report.
