CAC Boss Launches Innovation, Digital Services Unit to Strengthen Service Delivery

The Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC, has inaugurated its Innovation and Digital Services Unit as part of efforts to accelerate digital transformation and enhance service delivery to businesses and the public.

The new unit was officially commissioned by the Registrar-General of the Commission, Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, who described the initiative as another milestone in the agency’s drive to modernise its operations and improve the efficiency of its services.

Speaking at the commissioning, Mr Magaji said the establishment of the Innovation and Digital Services Unit underscores the Commission’s commitment to embracing innovation and deploying technology to meet the evolving needs of its customers.

He noted that the unit would play a key role in advancing the CAC’s digital transformation agenda by promoting technology-driven solutions aimed at making the Commission’s services faster, more accessible and more efficient.

The Registrar-General congratulated members of the newly inaugurated unit and expressed confidence in their ability to drive innovation within the Commission.

“I am honoured to commission the Innovation and Digital Services Unit of the Corporate Affairs Commission. This marks another significant step in our commitment to innovation, digital transformation, and improved service delivery,” he said.

Mr Magaji urged the team to remain focused on delivering innovative solutions that would strengthen the Commission’s operations and enhance customer experience.

He also wished the staff success in advancing the Commission’s digital agenda, expressing optimism that the new unit would contribute significantly to improving corporate registration and regulatory services in Nigeria.

The commissioning of the unit forms part of the CAC’s broader reforms aimed at leveraging technology to simplify business registration processes, improve operational efficiency and support the Federal Government’s ease of doing business initiatives.

The inauguration comes barely days after the Registrar-General intensified the Commission’s reform programme by sending the first batch of State Office Coordinators to Kenya for a specialised capacity-building programme.

The international training forms part of Mr Magaji’s four-point agenda to reposition the Commission through innovation, enhanced professionalism, technological advancement and improved customer service.

Speaking before the officials departed, the Registrar-General said the programme was designed to expose participants to global best practices in corporate regulation, institutional management and customer-focused service delivery.

He expressed confidence that the knowledge and experience gained from the training would strengthen the Commission’s operations and support its ongoing transformation agenda.

Since assuming office, Mr Magaji has introduced several reforms aimed at modernising the Commission, improving turnaround time for business registration and enhancing digital service delivery.

Industry stakeholders have noted significant improvements in the Commission’s online services, corporate registration processes and stakeholder engagement under the current leadership.

The establishment of the Innovation and Digital Services Unit is widely seen as another strategic step in consolidating these reforms and positioning the CAC as a modern, technology-driven regulatory agency capable of meeting the evolving needs of businesses and investors in Nigeria.
