Gov. Sani Commissions 6 Roads in Jaba, Says ‘I’ve Fulfilled My Promise to Ham People’

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has said he has fulfilled his promise to the Ham people with the commissioning of six road projects in Jaba Local Government Area, ending what he described as more than two decades of neglect in road infrastructure.

Speaking at the inauguration of the projects in Kwoi, the headquarters of Jaba Local Government Area, the governor said the completion of the roads fulfilled the commitment he made during the groundbreaking ceremony in September 2025.

“By the grace of God and through the dedication of our team, we have returned to redeem that pledge. Nothing strengthens the bond between a government and its people more than promises fulfilled,” he said.

The projects commissioned include Audu Tilo Road, Sabon Gari Road, Doctor Sani Road, Hospital Road, Kpop Ham Palace Road and the Kwoi–Gora Road.

Mr Sani said the projects had broken a 20-year jinx in Jaba, noting that the local government had not witnessed the construction of a completed kilometre of road for more than two decades. He described Jaba as one of the 12 local government areas that had suffered neglect in road infrastructure, arguing that such disparity was inconsistent with the principles of fairness, equity and justice.

“We are determined to reverse that history. Our administration has pursued an infrastructure agenda deliberately designed to ensure that development reaches every part of Kaduna State,” he said.

According to the governor, his administration has initiated 150 road projects spanning more than 1,355 kilometres across the state’s 23 local government areas, with the majority already completed. He said the projects represented more than physical infrastructure, describing them as evidence of his administration’s commitment to ensuring that no community is excluded from the dividends of democratic governance.

“Our philosophy is that government must not be defined by geography, politics or identity, but by fairness in the allocation of opportunities and public investment,” he said.

Mr Sani described the Kwoi township roads and the Kwoi–Gora Road as strategic investments that would boost the economic and social development of Jaba by improving access to schools and healthcare facilities, enhancing commercial activities and easing the movement of farmers and traders.

He recalled that the Kwoi–Gora Road had long been associated with hardship, particularly during the rainy season when erosion and poor road conditions disrupted movement, isolated communities, increased transport costs and hindered access to essential services.

“Today, that difficult chapter has been replaced by new opportunities. This road will strengthen social and economic interactions, improve emergency response, facilitate agricultural transportation and open wider prospects for investment across Jaba Local Government Area,” the governor said.
