The Association of Corporate Communication and Marketing Professionals in Banks (ACAMB) has hosted a golf and networking event as part of activities marking its 30th anniversary.
The event, held at Ikoyi Club 1938, brought together top banking executives, industry stakeholders, media representatives and clients to celebrate the association’s contribution to Nigeria’s banking and communications sector.
In a statement released on Friday, ACAMB said the gathering was aimed at fostering stronger relationships, promoting collaboration and creating opportunities for professional engagement among members and partners.
The association noted that the occasion highlighted three decades of efforts in advancing corporate communication and marketing standards within the banking industry.
Speaking at the event, ACAMB President, Jide Sipe, reaffirmed the organisation’s dedication to enhancing the reputation and development of the banking sector through effective communication strategies.
Sipe explained that corporate communication and marketing professionals have played a key role in shaping the financial industry by promoting transparency, digital innovation and improved customer engagement.
He added that their responsibilities have expanded beyond information management, as they now serve as strategic contributors to business growth, brand credibility, customer loyalty, regulatory compliance and public awareness of financial policies.
The ACAMB president also praised Ikoyi Club 1938 for its commitment to community development, sports excellence and social interaction, noting that the club’s values align with the association’s vision for professional and social advancement.
The Deputy Chairman of Ikoyi Club 1938, Martins Bolaji, congratulated ACAMB ahead of its anniversary celebration scheduled for September and appreciated the association for selecting the club as the venue for the event.
Bolaji said the club remains open to partnerships with professional organisations to encourage inclusiveness, collaboration and growth across various sectors.
He added that the club is working towards maintaining a modern and progressive environment that supports established corporate bodies and young professionals.
“As a former banker, I understand ACAMB’s importance and the impact it has made over the last three decades. The banking sector has witnessed significant transformation, and ACAMB deserves commendation for its role in that progress,” Bolaji said.
He further announced that ACAMB members and other interested professionals would receive discounted membership opportunities at the club as recognition of the association’s contributions to Nigeria’s banking industry.
