Come Back Home: Kwankwaso Urges Nigerian Engineers in Diaspora

His Excellency Senator Rabiu Mus Kwankwaso PhD FNSE has urged Nigerian Engineers in Scotland to come back home to help in developing Nigeria.

His Excellency who was represented by Dr Sam Omale at
The Nigerian Society of Engineers Glasgow Branch Scotland at their 2026 Engineering Conference at the weekend extolled the unique leadership qualities of an Engineer. He told his audience that Engineers are known for problem solving insight and use root-cause analysis to address systemic workplace or project
hurdles rather than treating symptoms.

His Excellency went further to say that Engineers’decision making mechanism is data-backed and relies on
clear metrics, testing, and evidence rather than assumptions or office politics.

According to him, an engineer’s technical credibility and process efficiency are never in doubt because an Engineer
understands the practical limitations and core mechanics of what their team builds, earning natural respect. This is because he or she streamlines workflows and removes operational waste with a bias for high performance.

His Excellency told the conference that it is leadership traits of an engineer such as creativity and
innovation, communication ability, resilience and curiosity that shaped his work ethics and political philosophy.

In his address, he defined and explained the problems facing Nigeria today including corruption, infrastructure deficit, insecurity and a wobbly economy and promised that if team Obi- Kwankwaso was voted into power next year they would govern with integrity and deliver measurable results that will improve the lives of citi-
zens of Nigeria.

“W e y e a r n t o w a r d s a truly federal and democratic Nigeria that guarantees equal protection and
opportunities for all persons and groups, without discrimination based on tribe, ethnicity, or religion.
A Nigeria where the full potential of our human resources is mobilized to drive productivity and unlock
the immense possibilities our nation possesses—building a vibrant, productive, and inclusive economy
that ensures broad-based development and prosperity for every citizen.” he stated. He further to them that his
economic vision is supported by a robust foreign policy firmly anchored in Pan-Africanism, promoting solidarity, cooperation, and Africa’s collective advancement on the global stage with Nigeria as
the catalyst for Africa’s economic and political leadership. “We envision a thriving, equitable, and sus-
tainable Nigeria where every citizen flourishes in a society built on unshakeable pillars of progress and
justice”

He therefore called on Nigerian Engineers in Glasgow to acquire as much skills and knowledge and bring such acquisition home and together “we can transform Nigeria to a vibrant economy that will benefit all” he concluded.
