The Kebbi State Government has assured the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, Jos, of its readiness to collaborate with the institution, particularly in the areas of security and cultural heritage.

‎Governor Nasir Idris gave the assurance on Tuesday when he received participants of Course 48 of NIPSS during a courtesy visit to the Government House in Birnin Kebbi. The delegation was led by a director at the institute, Nima Salman.
‎
‎Idris said Kebbi remained open to partnerships that would contribute to Nigeria’s development. He also encouraged the participants to visit Zuru and Yauri to experience the state’s diverse cultural heritage.
‎
‎According to the governor, Kebbi’s cultural attractions extend beyond the renowned Argungu Fishing Festival to include the Uhola Cultural Festival in Zuru, the Regatta in Yauri and Hutongo in the Gwandu Emirate.
‎
‎The governor approved the requests presented by the delegation, including the construction of a flat at the NIPSS centre and financial support towards improving security at the institution.
‎
‎He described NIPSS as one of Nigeria’s foremost institutions and praised its commitment to maintaining high standards and integrity in its membership.
‎
‎Speaking on the purpose of the visit, Salman said the delegation was in Kebbi to study the state’s cultural heritage as part of the activities undertaken by every NIPSS course set.
‎
‎He also conveyed requests from the institute’s Director-General, which included support for the construction of accommodation at NIPSS, financial assistance for security, participation in the presentation of the Course 48 report and attendance at the turbaning ceremony of Muhammadu Bande as the District Head of Besse.
‎
‎Salman commended the Kebbi State Government for the warm reception and hospitality extended to the participants during their stay.
