The Nigerian Army says its troops have killed 19 terrorists and rescued 23 kidnapped persons during separate operations conducted across the country within a 24-hour period.

‎The operations, carried out between Monday and Tuesday, involved troops from various formations and security operations, according to military reports.
‎
‎In Zamfara, troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA rescued 18 people abducted from their homes in Sabon Gari, Kaura Namoda Local Government Area. The troops responded to a distress call, engaged the terrorists and forced them to retreat, leaving the victims behind. All 18 persons were rescued without injuries.
‎
‎Another kidnap victim was rescued by troops near Kukawa Village in Kanam Local Government Area of Plateau State. The victim reportedly told the soldiers that he had been abducted from Duguri in Bauchi State on Thursday before being handed over to the village head.
‎
‎In Plateau, troops of Operation ENDURING PEACE also killed a suspected terrorist and recovered an AK-47 rifle along with two rounds of ammunition. The operation followed information obtained from an arrested suspected bandit, who guided the troops to a location in Nwur Village, Shendam Local Government Area.
‎
‎Meanwhile, troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA in Kebbi State killed 18 terrorists during an attack on personnel of the Mobile Police Special Intervention Squad in Makuku, Sakaba Local Government Area.
‎
‎The troops also destroyed five motorcycles. In a separate clearance operation in Plateau, they recovered two locally manufactured AK-47 rifles.

‎In Borno State, five people who escaped from a terrorist camp in the Mandara Mountains were rescued by troops of Operation HADIN KAI.
‎
‎The escapees were discovered by soldiers of the 82 Division Task Force Battalion while they were conducting a patrol along the Amuda Bridge–Ngoshe-Gava road in Gwoza Local Government Area.
‎
‎The military said the five victims fled the terrorist enclave following disagreements among the insurgents and the subsequent abandonment of the camp by some of the fighters.

‎In another operation, troops of the 82 Division and 103 Battalion recovered four AK-47 rifles, seven magazines and 133 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition from a kidnappers’ hideout in Umuchingu Ujenike Forest, Enugu State.
‎
‎The Nigerian Army said the operations were part of its ongoing efforts to dismantle terrorist and criminal networks and rescue victims across the country.
