The Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy said 103 Ukrainian warriors have returned home upon release from captivity in Russia.
Mr Zelenskyy in his X post on Wednesday said that the warriors were among those who defended their country in several places.
“Today, 103 Ukrainian warriors are returning home from Russian captivity.
“They are defenders from the Armed Forces, the State Border Guard Service, and the National Guard. Among those released are warriors who defended Ukraine in Mariupol and in the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Dnipro, and Sumy sectors,” he wrote.
The president added that the warriors were replenishing Ukraine’s exchange fund and, through their courage, made it possible to bring Ukrainians home.
“I am grateful to the team that works every day to secure the release of our people,” he stated.
He added that the country remembers every man and woman who still remains in captivity, promising that efforts are ongoing to bring them home.
This development comes barely 24 hours after Mr Zelensky stated that 10 persons were killed and several others injured in Ukraine as Russia hit the Kharkiv region, including post offices and residential apartments.
