2027: Why Victor Ochei Is Best Candidate for Delta North Senatorial District – Support Group

By Deborah Coker

The Victor Ochei Support Group has described the candidate for Nigeria Democratic Party (NDC) for Delta North Senatorial District in the 2027 election, Mr Victor Ochei, as the best for the job.

The group stated this at a joint news conference addressed by its Chairman, Ikechukwu Abiandu, and Secretary, Felix Elumelu, on Thursday in Abuja.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the group, also known as “Team Ochei” is a political pressure group championing the election of Ochei in the 2027 general elections.

According to the group, records antecedents, competence and capacity will be the yardsticks for measuring leadership of the senatorial district in 2027.

It said that the senatorial district deserved an experienced, visionary and people-centred leadership represented by Ochei, a former Speaker of Delta House of Assembly.

“That is why we stand firmly behind Victor Ochei as he steps forward for our senatorial district. We will engage and prepare our people for the task ahead.

“We will ask difficult questions, address uncomfortable realities, encourage fearless expressions and remain unwavering in our commitment to the progress of Delta North.

“Our mission is simple: to inspire hope, promote informed choices and build a movement that puts the people first.

“Every election offers the people an opportunity to decide their future and the 2027 Delta North senatorial election is no different.

“It is a choice between proven performance and empty rhetoric; between tested leadership and unfulfilled promises,” it said.

The support group also noted that Ochei’s journey in public service had always been defined by courage, resilience, competence and results.

“Against the odds, he earned the confidence of the people and delivered leadership that ensured Aniocha North benefitted from over a decade of impactful representation.

“As the 2027 campaign season begins, ‘Team Ochei’ is confident that where records, antecedents, competence and capacity remain the standards for leadership, Victor Ochei remains one of the strongest and most acceptable choices to represent Delta North in the Senate.

“This movement is not about one individual alone. It is about giving Delta North a stronger voice, attracting greater opportunities that will empower our youths and women, supporting our communities and ensuring that our people receive the quality representation they deserve.

“The months ahead will demand commitment, unity and active participation from every supporter of progress.

“Talk to a brother, share with a sister, spread the word and let every voice echo support for the new direction Victor Ochei will take Delta North to.

“Together, we will share the message, engage our communities and work tirelessly to build a brighter future for Delta North senatorial district,” the group said.

NAN reports that Ochei was the speaker of state House of Assembly from June 6, 2011 to March 18, 2014 under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leadership.

NAN also reports that Ochei, who joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) on June 28, 2016, was a prominent stakeholder and grassroots mobiliser in Delta until his defection to ADC on May 8.
